CAIRO: Egyptian keeper Essam Al-Hadari had a successful debut for Swiss side FC Sion making some brilliant saves to help his team to a 1-1 draw against Neuchatel Xamax on Sunday.
Alexander Quennoz opened the scoring for the hosts connecting with a corner in the 47th minute but Goran Obradovic leveled the score three minutes later.
Moroccan striker Tarek Shihab was twice clean on target but he just couldn’t beat Hadari to keep the score level.
The Pharaohs’ goalie made some superb stretches and Neuchatel failed to make their advantage count.
The result leaves Sion seventh with 37 points while Neuchatel are eight with 34 points.
