CAIRO: Al-Gaish leapfrogged Zamalek into second place in the Egyptian League table after claiming a precious 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Baladeya on Sunday.

Military club Al-Gaish moved to second spot with 47 points, one ahead of third-placed Zamalek with five matches to go.
Both sides are enjoying a fine run of results and are competing for the final CAF Champions League qualifying spot.
Al-Gaish are also aiming to reach the Arab Champions League final. They beat Algeria s ES Setif 2-1 at home in the first-leg of the competition s semi final.
Baladeya s defeat widened their relegation worries as they lie second from bottom with 21 points, four adrift of the safety zone.
