CAIRO: The president of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) Samir Zaher dismissed the idea of changing the league format next season as some reports have claimed.
We do not intend to change the league format and next year it will also be 16 teams in one group, Zaher told FilGoal.com on Tuesday.
Press reports claimed lately that the EFA are considering switching to a two-group system each including 10 teams, in an attempt to maintain competition.
Al Ahly have clinched a fourth consecutive league title with five matches left to play.
Elsewhere Zaher revealed that an Arab Television network offered LE 100 million for exclusive television rights to the Egyptian Premier League.
We are still considering the offer, added the EFA boss.
The League satellite rights are sold, until 2009, to several local and foreign networks.
