CAIRO: Amr Zaki s agent said that Wigan coach Steve Bruce was impressed with the Zamalek striker s display during Monday s 5-1 drubbing of Aluminum.
Bruce, who is currently on a scouting mission in Africa, attended the game at Military Stadium, where Zaki scored twice.
Bruce was impressed, he admires Zaki s technical and physical abilities, agent Mohamed Saied told FilGoal.com.
He believes Zaki can play in the Premiership and shine for Wigan.
In the same context, Zamalek spokesman Khaled Gabr said that club officials will meet with the Latics boss on Tuesday.
Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas said that the club is yet to receive a genuine bid for the Egypt ace from Wigan, but claims there are other offers from Europe though.
We have offers from France and Portugal for Amr, but we haven’t talked with Wigan, the Zamalek president told Modern Sport after the Aluminum game.
Zaki has been pleading for a bigger move since last season, but the Whites considered all offers for him to be false.
However, the 25-year-old s display in Egypt s 2008 African Cup of Nations victory is unlikely to see him remaining in the Egyptian League for another season.
