ISMAILIA: Trabzonspor have taken up an option to sign Egypt full-back Sayed Moawad on permanent basis after paying Ismaili $900,000.
Moawad has penned a three-year deal with the Turkish outfit, but it is highly likely that he will join Egyptian champions Ahly in the summer.
The 28-year-old apparently opted to stay with Trabzon in order to fulfill his aim of moving to Ahly.
I signed a three-year deal with Trabzon, but I may return to Egypt soon if I find it hard to adapt to life in Turkey, he recently told Modern Sport.
Moawad, who moved to Trabzon from Ismaili last February on a three-month loan deal, was on the verge of joining Ahly during the January transfer window.
Former Ismaili chairman Yehia Al-Koumi agreed to sell Moawad to Ahly but heavy protests from the Dervishes fans led to the deal being cancelled.
Ismaili do not enjoy the best of relationships with Ahly because they believe the Red Devils always try to deprive them of their prized assets.
