CAIRO: Ahly marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi confirmed the signing of Qatar forward Hussein Yasser from Portugal s Boavista.
Yasser, who is the son of former Egyptian footballer Yasser Mohammadi, has an Egyptian passport and will be registered as a native player.
Yasser signed a three-year contract on Tuesday, Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com.
The 26-year-old signed on a free transfer and will be Ahly s third recruitment in the frontline this summer, following deals with Ahmed Hassan and Hani Al-Egeizy.
Yasser had spells with Manchester City, Sporting Braga and Antwerp, as he also played for Al-Sadd and Al-Rayan in Qatar.
