CAIRO: Reports in Germany suggested that Mohamed Zidan could be on his way to join Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, following the latter s appointment as new head coach.

German daily Bild stated that Klopp is eyeing his ex-favorite as he prepares for the new season at Signal Iduna Park.

Klopp was in charge of Mainz in the 2006-2007 season, when Zidan excelled under his management to score 13 goals in 15 games for the then-Bundesliga side.

Zidan, who considers Klopp as his Godfather , was then acquired by Hamburg last summer, but his first season at Nordbank Arena was anything but successful.

It is also reported that HSV s new manager Martin Jol does not rule out the Egyptian striker s sale this summer.
