ALEXANDRIA: Ittihad continued their squad overhaul after signing free agent Ahmed Adel on a three-year contract.
The former Olympic right-back was released by Ahly after failing to make a place for himself in Manuel Jose s squad.
Ahly signed him in January 2007 after beating off competition from arch-rivals Zamalek.
Ittihad are also close to signing right-back Ahmed Hossam, who was released by Zamalek.
The Alexandria-based club have recently signed ENPPI duo Reda Metwalli and Farag Shalabi.
Taha Basri s men finished tenth in the Egyptian League last season.
