CAIRO: Ittihad completed the signing of Suez Cement defender Ahmed Bakri on a free transfer to become the club’s eighth summer signing.

The Alexandrian side has been struggling over the past few seasons and manager Taha Basri is planning a major overhaul.

Ahli’s Ahmed Adel, Telecom Egypt’s Mohamed Abdul-Sattar, Samir Ashour, Adel Fathi, Nasser Hasanein, ENPPI’s Reda Metwali and Farag Shalabi have already put pen-on-paper.

And there is more to come. “We are in talks with Zamalek’s Ahmed Hossam. We need more strength on the right flank and he would be a good signing, Basri told FilGoal.com.

Ittihad have still a long shop list that includes Baladeya’s Gamal Gad , ENPPI’s Ibrahim Al-Shayeb and Osama Al-Sayed.

“We are not looking for big names. We want players who can deliver their goods for years to come, Club President Mohamed Mosselhi said.
