CAIRO: Director Youssef Chahine returned to Egypt on Wednesday on board a private jet that flew him from France.
He was admitted to the Armed Forces Hospital in Maadi.Chahine was flown to Paris after suffering a brain hemorrhage in mid-June. He had fallen into a coma but reports indicated that he woke up earlier this month.
President Hosni Mubarak had said Egypt would pay for his treatment in consideration of his involvement in the construction of Egyptian cinema, MENA reported.
