CAIRO: Roma coach Luciano Spalletti said he admired Mohamed Abou-Trika’s abilities, according to Ahly’s official website.
Spalletti’s comments came after A S Roma crushed Ahly 3-0 in a pre-season friendly game on Wednesday.
“Ahly have very good players, especially number 22 who put in a superb display, the Italian manager said after the match, referring to Abou-Trika.
The playmaker came on as a second-half substitute, making his long-awaited return after recovering from a niggling knee injury.
He is expected to start Ahly’s Egyptian League opener against newly-promoted side Olympic on Saturday.
