Zidan Withdraws from Fouad's New Movie

CAIRO: Hamburg s Egyptian forward Mohamed Zidan recently withdrew from his role in upcoming cinema project “El-Zamahlawiya, starring by singer-actor Mohamed Fouad.

Zidan, who has no previous cinema experience, was set to play Fouad’s young brother in the film that will feature football stars from both Ahly and Zamalek teams.

The film’s script is co-written by Fouad and actor Tamer Abdel-Moneim and the story was penned by Fouad himself who tailored Zidan’s character to suit the footballer’s real-life persona.

Zidan, 26, is currently participating in friendly games with German side Hamburg in order to be fit for the team s Bundesliga opener against defending champions Bayern Munich on Aug. 15.
