CAIRO: Damietta governor Fathy El Baradie said that Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif will visit the coastal city soon to confirm the relocation of the controversial Agrium plant away from Ras El Bar resort.
At a press conference Monday, he emphasized the political leadership’s bias towards the people in Damietta, saying that it has had the biggest influence on the decision to move the fertilizer plant.
He added that the transfer to the industrial zone will be beneficial because the zone is already equipped with a full-fledged sewage and electricity infrastructure limiting the chances of pollution and harm to marine life in the Mediterranean Sea.
