CAIRO: Four people died and 45 were injured when a bus crashed into a gasoline truck.

The South Sinai police said that Hossam Goda, 21, Khairy Hemdan, 25, and Mostafa El Saied, 21 died on site. At press time, the fourth body was yet to be identified.

The accident took place 10 km away from the resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, on the road leading to El-Tor.

South Sinai Governor Mohamed Hani Metwalli said the government will pay LE 5,000 in compensation to the family of each married victim and LE 1,000 for unmarried ones.

The injured were transferred to Sharm El-Shiekh Hospital.
