CAIRO: Zamalek lost to Arab Contractors 1-0 in a warm-up game ahead of their crucial clash against Ahly in the CAF Champions League, on Sept. 14.

Reda Al-Weeshi scored the only goal of the game in the 63rd minute.

The Whites striker Gamal Hamza was shown the red card in the first half but the referee allowed Reiner Hollmann to substitute him.

Zamalek are in a do-or-die situation against Ahly in the CAF Champions League quarter finals.

Hollmann s men are fourth of the group with only four points and they must win their next couple of games to secure a place in the semi-finals.

The Cairo giants hopes of booking a last-four berth were heavily dented after they failed to beat ASEC Mimosas in two successive games.

Hollmann believes that his side still have a strong chance to reach the CAF Champions League semis.

Our chances to advance to the semis are as equal as those of our group competitors, Hollmann was quoted as saying by the club s official website.

German tactician Hollmann called on Zamalek fans to support their team in the anticipated clash against Ahly.

I want the fans to stand by the team in the coming period, especially against Ahly on Sunday.

Their role is very important. We defeated Dynamos Harare 1-0 in Cairo when the fans flooded the Military Academy stadium.
