CAIRO: Ahly winger Hussein Yasser picked up an injury while playing for Qatar in the World Cup qualifiers on Wednesday.
Yasser, who wasn t at his best during Qatar s 1-1 home draw with 10-man Bahrain, sustained the injury with five minutes remaining.
But despite being in obvious pain, the 24-year-old completed the match as Qatar s three substitutions were already made.
It is not yet known what kind of injury the talented winger has suffered.
Yasser joined Cairo giants Ahly in the close season after his contract with Portuguese side Boavista expired.
Although he arrived with high expectations, with Ahly fans considering him as Mohamed Barakat s successor, Yasser was given limited opportunities during this season.
He featured in Ahly s 3-0 friendly defeat to AS Roma and came on as a late substitute in the 2-0 Egyptian League loss to Masri.
