CAIRO: Emad Meteb scored his first competitive goal for Ittihad Jeddah as his new club kicked off their Saudi League campaign with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Al-Raed.
The Egypt striker, who joined Ittihad from Cairo giants Ahly on a season-long loan, opened the scoring in the 24th minute in a superb fashion.
He received a free-kick with a brilliant overhead kick that found its way into the back of the net.
Meteb could have scored his second of the night in the 64th minute when he went clear on goal but the goal keeper blocked his effort.
The 25-year-old was replaced two minutes later, making way for Naif Hazazi.
Moroccan forward Hicham Aboucherouane and Mohamed Noor notched a brace apiece to help Ittihad Jeddah thrash Al-Raed.
