ISMAILIA: Ismaili have appointed Brazilian tactician Heron Ricardo as their new manager. He is set to start his job immediately.
A source inside the club told FilGoal.com that Ricardo inked a deal that will run until June 2010.
The Brazilian tactician stepped down from Hilal s job following the Sudanese side s CAF Champions League exit.
According to the source, the negotiations took only 10 days as Ricardo was willing to work in Egypt.
The former Hilal coach has been linked with Zamalek last summer but the talks fell through.
Ironically, the appointment comes just a few hours after the Dervishes board has given a vote of confidence to coach Khaled Al-Qammash.
Ricardo made a huge impact with Hilal leading them to the CAF Champions League semi-finals in 2007 and winning a host of titles including three league trophies.
