CAIRO: Saudi champions Ittihad Jeddah will be launching a bid to sign Emad Meteb on permanent bases, the player s agent said on Thursday.
The Egyptian striker is on loan at Ittihad from Ahly, and the Saudi officials are hoping to make the move permanent after Meteb scored three goals for Ittihad so far.
Ittihad president Mansour Al-Balawi will arrive in Cairo after the Enyimba clash to negotiate with Ahly over the possibility of keeping Meteb at Ittihad after his loan deal expires.
The player s agent Nader Shawky told FilGoal.com that Ahly coach Manuel Jose has initially agreed to let Meteb join Ittihad.
The agent added that Meteb would welcome the permanent move to Ittihad as it is one step closer to playing in Europe.
