CAIRO: Emad Al-Nahhas and Ahmed Fathi could make their long-awaited return to action when Ahly host Asyut Petroleum in a rescheduled Egyptian League game on Wednesday.
“Both players have a chance to feature in the Asyut game, Ahly doctor Ehab Ali told FilGoal.com.
The influential duo has been sidelined since April.
Fathi, who put in some impressive displays for Ahly after joining from English side Sheffield United last January, suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon.
Veteran defender Al-Nahhas underwent an operation to repair a damaged knee ligament.
Their absence was badly felt as Ahly coach Manuel Jose struggled to find replacements for them.
Natural central defender Shadi Mohamed failed to impress when he played as a sweeper while the versatility of Egypt midfielder Fathi was missed.
