CAIRO: Upon their arrival in Cairo on Thursday, Coton Sport refused to stay in the hotel Ahly allocated for them and opted to check in the Olympic village in Ismailia instead.
The Cameroon Champions will be meeting Ahly in the African Champions League final first leg on Nov. 2.
The Ahly coordinator in charge of receiving the Coton team told FilGoal.com that the visitors took a bus provided by the Cameroonian Embassy in Egypt and headed straight to Ismailia.
Similar situation occurred during the competition s semi-final, when Nigeria s Enyimba refused to use any facilities provided by Ahly.
Meanwhile, Ahly playmaker Mohamed Abou-Trika received an official invitation to participate in international friendly raising money for orphans in Morrocco on Nov. 7.
The club’s director of football Hadi Khashaba told FilGoal.com that the proposal will be forwarded to the technical staff before approving the player s participation in the game or not.
