Beltone Financial opens Libya office

CAIRO: Egypt-based investment bank Beltone Financial has expanded into Libya by opening an office in Tripoli, Libya, the bank said on Saturday.

Beltone Financial is providing a comprehensive suite of services in Tripoli including securities brokerage, asset management, investment, corporate restructuring and advisory services, the bank said in a statement.

It added that it was partnering the Libyan Economic and Social Development Fund.

Libya s economic, social and political climate signals that the time is right to invest in Libya, Beltone Financial Chairman Aladdin Saba said in the statement.

Beltone s research unit would also expand its coverage to include Libyan companies, the statement said.

Beltone, which was established in 2002, is present in Cairo, Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Qatar, London and New York.

The investment bank manages about LE 30 billion of assets, making it one of the largest investment banks in the country. It has completed more than LE 7 billion worth of investment banking transactions and has more than LE 3 billion invested in private equity. – Reuters
