Zaki supports Britain's cleanliness

CAIRO: Egypt and Wigan Athletic striker Amr Zaki is taking part in an English nationwide campaign to keep British cities “tidy.

Alongside teammates Daniel De Ridder and Antonio Valencia, 25-year-old Zaki wore shirts with slogans supporting the Big Tidy Up campaign on Wednesday.

Zaki has taken football by storm this season and he is a big role model to youngsters and teenagers so we are thrilled, Wigan Pier-based Keep Britain Tidy s Fiona Birkett was quoted as saying.

Although our campaign began in September we are still seeing litter picks taking place nationwide. It s terrific, she added.

Zaki s striking partner Emile Heskey has also praised the efforts contributed in the campaign.

Wigan Athletic Football Club is committed to this campaign and we would encourage others to join in the Big Tidy Up and do their bit to clean up their local area, said the England international.
