CAIRO: Ahly have sent the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) a provisional list of 30 players, who will participate in the Club World Cup in Japan.
The initial team will be narrowed down to a list of 23 players and 22 accompanying officials and staff members, which must be sent to FIFA by Nov. 27.
Newly signed players Hani El-Egeizi, Ahmed Hassan Farag, Hussein Yasser and Hussein Ali, who were all out of the team s CAF Champions League list, have made the World Club Cup provisional squad.
In the competition, which is set to take place between Dec. 11 and 21, Ahly will kick off their participation by facing CONCACAF champions Pachuca of Mexico.
Ahly have already taken part in the prestigious tournament twice; the club was eliminated from the first round in 2005 and finishing third in 2006.
