Hull City is ready to vie with Blackburn Rovers for signing Egypt midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou, according to the daily Mirror.
The English newspaper claimed that Hull boss Phil Brown is eager to land the 25-year-old at KC Stadium in the upcoming winter break.
Abd-Rabou is currently on loan from Ismaili at Ahly Dubai, who led the charge in the UAE League after beating Al-Shaab on Monday.
During the past two seasons, Abd-Rabou was subject to intense controversy involving French side Strasbourg, Egyptian champions Ahly and Ismaili.
The CAN 2008 Player of the Tournament is believed to be interested in a return to Europe, following an unsuccessful spell with Strasbourg.
