CAIRO: Koroum manager Magdi Allam is fancying a cup surprise when his second tier side face African champions Ahly in the Egyptian Cup on Thursday.
Allam is aware that his side will have an uphill battle against the league champions, who return to domestic football after a dismal Club World Cup campaign in Japan.
The game will be extremely difficult because it is the first game for Ahly after the Club World Cup, the Koroum coach told FilGoal.com.
Nevertheless, with some luck, we can produce a cup surprise and eliminate the African champions.
Koroum are currently seventh in the 16-team Group 3 table of the second division.
The Alexandrian side is yet to play top-flight football since the 2005-2006 season, when they finished bottom of the league.
