CAIRO: Tersana are interested in signing Palestinian striker Fadi Lafi in January, coach Mohamed Omar said.

Omar has been impressed by Lafi since he was in charge of Jordan Youth Club.

Lafi is a very good striker and will be a massive addition to the team, Omar told FilGoal.com.

The 29-year-old international has a huge experience in the Jordanian League, having played for giants Faisali and Wehdat before joining his current side in 2003.

He won the league s top scorer award more than once and put on impressive displays with the Palestinian national team.

Omar, who took over halfway through the first part of the season, is desperate to land at least two prolific strikers as Tersana fight relegation.

The Cairo side are in the bottom of the table on 16 points. They scored 15 goals in as many games.

Tersana are also on the brink of re-signing attacking midfielder Amr “Samaka Fathi, who left for Ahly before being loaned to Kuwaiti side Kazma.

Samaka, 25, joined Kazma in 2006 after being handed an African suspension due to failing a doping test while playing for Ahly in the African Champions League.

But this season, Samaka failed to establish himself as a regular starter at the four-time Kuwaiti champions.
