CAIRO: Ahly star Mohamed Abou-Trika is set to fly to Germany on Thursday in order to undergo a check-up on his troublesome knee.
Ahly said on their official website that the 30-year-old, who will be accompanied by Doctor Ihab Ali, felt slight pain to his knee during the past few days.
The Egypt playmaker underwent knee surgery in Germany last year, following a tear in the medial collateral ligament.
Abou-Trika experienced a notable dip in form of late, which prompted coach Manuel Jose to rely on the in-form Mohamed Barakat.
The Ahly fans favorite started on the bench in the recent Cairo derby win over Zamalek, before making a quiet second-half appearance.
