CAIRO: Olympic have signed former Egypt striker Walid Abdel-Latif on a free agent, the Alexandrian club said on Thursday.

We signed Abdel-Latif until the end of the season for LE 120, 000, Olympic football director Emad Koora told FilGoal.com.

Abdel-Latif, 31, has not played since an unsuccessful spell at Ismaili in 2007, which eventually saw him released by the Dervishes.

The veteran striker won three league titles with Zamalek, in addition to the CAF Champions League in 2002.

Olympic are aiming to strengthen their squad in an attempt to avoid their highly-expected relegation this season.

The Egyptian Premier League newcomers are now second from bottom with 13 points from 15 games.
