CAIRO: Ahly midfielder Hossam Ashour is ready to make his comeback in the Red Devils last rescheduled Egyptian Premier League match against Gaish on Jan. 31.
The 23-year-old sustained a thigh muscle knock over a fortnight ago during the 1-0 win over Ismaili, and he overcame his injury after undergoing an intensive recovery program.
Ashour is set to return to training on Monday, and by next Saturday he will be fit to get back in action, physical therapist Al-Shahat Mahmoud told Ahly s official website.
But after all, he may not take part in Gaish match, as head coach Manuel Jose might prefer to keep him rested for a while longer.
The Cairo giants upcoming match is of utmost importance, as they would move five points clear at top should they register a victory.
Petrojet now lie second with 30 points, two adrift of Ahly.
