CAIRO: Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan quashed reports claiming he is in dispute with Manuel Jose after the former spoke to the media without the Ahly boss permission.

Jose imposes restrictions on his players regarding any contact with the media, but Hassan appeared on television after Egypt s recent friendly with Kenya.

Leading newspaper Al-Ahram claimed that the 33-year-old is “considering leaving Ahly because of his continuous disputes with Jose.

Subsequently, Hassan denied the allegations as he sounded his frustration with the false story.

“This is totally untrue; my relationship with Jose is excellent. There is a lot of respect between us, the former Anderlecht playmaker told FilGoal.com.

“It is really annoying to hear such false rumors.

Hassan explained his stance to Jose, stressing that he spoke to the media as the captain of Egypt.

“I told Jose that my speech was not related to Ahly; he totally understood my point and it was over, added Hassan.

“I had to appear on TV because I am the captain of the national team, so I spoke on this subject.

Hassan scored the only goal of the game last week as Egypt registered a 1-0 friendly victory over Kenya at Cairo Stadium.

The three-time African Cup of Nations winner repeatedly denied being unhappy with Ahly throughout the current season, where he helped the Red Devils win the Champions League.
