CAIRO: Zamalek striker Mostafa Gaafar stated that he’s on the brink of moving to Police Union on a loan deal until the end of the ongoing season.
“I have worked out all the details of the deal. Once Zamalek give me the green light the move will be sealed, the 27-year-old told FilGoal.com.
“My club’s officials told me that they would accept any offer for me as long as it fulfils their financial demands.
FilGoal.com found out that newly-appointed coach Michel Decastel has no reservations about Gaafar’s deal, especially after the arrival of Mohamed Al-Morsi from Mansoura.
Gaafar, who joined the White Knights in 2006 from Baladeya, couldn’t secure a regular place at the Cairo side over the past three years.
With recently-promoted side Police, the fringe hitman would most probably have a better chance to play more frequently.
The Egyptian Premier League strugglers were once close to signing Ahly’s Ahmed Hassan Farag, but the Red Devils’ coaching staff preferred to keep hold of the ex-Mahalla man.
Police, who lie 11th in the league table, want to beef themselves up before the reverse fixtures in order to stay clear of relegation threat.
