CAIRO: Sfaxien manager Ghazi Gherairi is unconcerned with Mohamed Abou-Trika s sole threat as he respects Ahly as a team , ahead of Friday s African Super Cup clash.
Abou-Trika holds a staggering reputation in Sfax, thanks to his legendary winner in the CAF Champions League final in Rades two years ago.
However, coach Gherairi does not set much importance to the inclusion of the Egypt playmaker, who is still doubtful for the game.
We are not concerned weather Abou-Trika will play or not; we respect Ahly as a team, the Sfaxien boss told a press conference.
Abou-Trika, who is nursing a knee injury, will have a late fitness test on Wednesday, after which his chances of appearing will be clear.
Regarding his team s strategy, Gherairi is intending to take the African champions by surprise at Cairo Stadium, as he vows to play an attack-minded game from the start.
We will play attacking football in order to put pressure on Ahly and surprise them from the beginning, the Tunisian added. We understand that Ahly know a lot about our style of play.
I think we are capable of beating Ahly at home and claiming the trophy. Our recent results prove we are in a good form at the moment.
Sfaxien are yet to beaten this year as they lie fourth in the Tunisian league, 14 points adrift of leaders Esperance.
The African Confederation Cup champions marginally lost the continental Super Cup title to local rivals Etoile Sahel last year.
