CAIRO: Police Union coach Talaat Youssef was glad to see his team fight back from two goals down to draw with Egypt Telecom in the Egyptian Premier League.
Police scored twice in the game’s last 30 minutes through Abdullah Farouk and Mahmoud Abdul-Rahman to salvage a point against Helmi Toulan’s Telecom.
“We were the better side throughout the game, even when we conceded the two goals, Youssef said after the game.
“We could have won the clash if it wasn’t for some naïve defensive errors.
“However, I’m delighted with the persistence my players showed at the end.
From his side, Toulan said his players’ cautious approach towards the end of the game cost them two valuable points.
“We didn’t deserve to win the game as we didn’t give our all. We only played for 15 minutes where we scored twice, the former Harras Hodoud tactician said.
“We allowed Police to get back in the game and we let the win slip from our hands.
