One last chance for Decastel

CAIRO: Zamalek coach Michel Decastel will be sacked if Zamalek fails to end their six-match winless streak when they face ENPPI on Tuesday.

The Swiss boss, who took over in January, is yet to enjoy his first win at the helm.

The Cairo giants lost two matches and drew three under Decastel s guidance.

Zamalek’s board had considered axing him and appointing temperamental coach Hossam Hassan, who enjoyed a hugely successful tenure with the team as a player in the early 2000s.

But they eventually decided to give Decastel a last chance against the in-form ENPPI in Tuesday s Egyptian Premier League clash.

Zamalek faces an unthinkable prospect of being relegated to the second division for the first time in their history.

Their dismal form saw them drop to ninth place in the 16-team league table on 24 points, just five above the relegation zone.

Zamalek s worst league position came in the 2004/2005 season when they finished sixth.
