CAIRO: FC Sion keeper Essam Al-Hadari might be suspended for up to six weeks by FIFA, according to Swiss paper Le Matin.
The paper reported that FIFA are expected to issue a decision regarding Ahly s complaint against the Egyptian international keeper.
Al-Hadari left Ahly to Sion in February 2008 without the club s consent, after the Cairo giants refused to sell the player.
In a similar incident in 2004, France defender Philippe Mexes was suspended by FIFA for six weeks upon joining the Italian club from Auxerre without the latter s agreement.
From his side, Sion s chief solicitor confirmed that the club will be doing their utmost to avoid Al-Hadari s suspension.
We will never leave things to go that far. Sion will do whatever it takes to protect our keeper s and the club s interests, he told Le Matin.
