Egypt call FIFA after Algeria-game reschedule

CAIRO: The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) are set to inform FIFA with the difficulty of facing Rwanda on June 10, after Algeria postponed their 2010 World Cup qualifiers meeting with Egypt.

The EFA received a notification from the Algerian Football Federation on Sunday, setting June 7 as the new date of the qualifier, one day later than the pre-agreed fixture date.

Following a meeting with the first team s technical staff, the EFA decided to inform FIFA that it would be difficult to play the World Cup qualifier with Rwanda on June 10 after playing in Algeria on June 7, just 72 hours earlier, read a statement on the EFA s official site stated.

Egypt, who will kickoff their World Cup qualifying campaign against Zambia on March 29 at Cairo Stadium, will take part in this year s FIFA Confederations Cup.

The African champions will face Brazil, Italy and USA in Group B in South Africa, who will host the competition starting June 15.
