CAIRO: Ahly assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri fined striker Ahmed Hassan Farag after the player protested against his exclusion from the Ittihad game.

The Red Devils will face Ittihad in the league later on Thursday, and Farag was angered upon hearing that the technical staff did not name him for the game.

Since moving to Ahly from Ghazl Mahalla last summer, Farag has been struggling to secure a regular place in Ahly s starting line-up.

The player tried to seek a move away from the Cairo giants in January, but the club refused to let him leave.

Defender Rami Adel was earlier suspended and loaned out to Masri for similarly protesting that he was not given enough playing minutes.

Meanwhile, the technical staff agreed on granting goalkeeper Ramzi Saleh a three-day holiday following the Ittihad game to visit his family.

The Egyptian Premier League will be on hold for two weeks prior to Egypt s World Cup qualifier against Zambia on March 29.
