CAIRO: Education sector administrators will continue their protests in various governorates in Egypt for the third day.
Even though today was planned to be the last, protestors said that if their demands are not met, they will resume their protests on April 5, 6 and 7 in front of the People s Assembly (PA).
Between Sunday and Tuesday, thousands of administrators protested in Daqahleya, Kafr El-Sheikh and Alexandria.
Some independent administrators in Cairo conducted a separate protest in front of the Cabinet building in Downtown Cairo on Sunday
An unofficial source told Daily News Egypt on condition of anonymity that security forces had forced the protestors to leave although the protestors indicated that they had planned to remain in front of Cabinet for three consecutive days.
The protestors are demanding better government housing facilities for education administrators, along with a 50 percent pay increase which was approved by the People s Assembly as part of the amended teachers’ law in 2007.
