CAIRO: Wigan Athletic coach Steve Bruce said that Ahmed “Mido Hossam will earn a permanent deal with the Latics if he keeps up his discipline and enthusiasm.
The Egyptian player has moved to the JJB Stadium on a loan deal from Middlesbrough in January, and apparently he s getting along with his boss.
By the time Mido gets 100 percent fit the season will be over, but he s certainly getting fitter, Bruce told the Evening Post.
We ll have to sit down at some point, see where Boro are and what their situation is regarding Mido.
I think you can see why I like Mido. He s trained hard since he s come here, done everything he possibly can to get fitter.
The former Manchester United man seemingly started to ponder a new deal for the 26-year-old after the latter impressed last weekend against Arsenal in the Premier League.
His fitness levels are getting better, and the way he led the line against Arsenal was terrific, Bruce said.
If he continues playing like that, of course we d be interested in taking him, but he s still a Middlesbrough player.
On the other hand, Mido reiterated that he would like to extend his stay at Wigan, saying he s yet to regain his peak form.
I m enjoying it here, I m working hard and getting back to my best, the international ace stated.
It s good working with Steve Bruce and Eric Black, and if I m being honest, I would love to be here next season.
It s a bit too early to talk about that because we don t know what is going to happen at Middlesbrough.
I really hope that Boro stay in the Premier League for everyone s sake there; they are great people.
