SHARM EL-SHEIKH: Egyptian police and Bedouin trackers ended a six-day search for a Russian teenager around a religious site in Sinai on Tuesday after his body was found in a deep ravine, a security official said.

Police began searching for Boris Maximov, 18, after he did not return from an excursion to Mount Sinai, a popular tourist attraction close to the resort of Sharm El-Sheikh, on April 15.

A preliminary investigation found that the fall was accidental, the official said.

Every year, thousands of tourists visit the 2,200-meter mountain, where the Bible says God revealed his laws to Moses. Tourists and pilgrims can ascend the mountain using two paths. -AFP
