CAIRO: ENPPI reached the CAF Confederation Cup third round despite suffering a crushing 3-0 defeat at Zimbabwe’s Red Arrows on Saturday.

The Egyptian Cup finalists advanced with a 4-3 aggregate win, having claimed a comfortable 4-0 victory over Red Arrows in the first leg in Cairo.

The visitors went to the locker room one up, thanks to a 40-minute goal by striker Simon Lupiya.

Two more goals in the second half put Red Arrows on course of springing a huge upset but ENPPI held their nerve to book a last-16 berth.

ENPPI will play another two-legged tie in the next round and if they overcome their opponent, who is yet to be determined, they will reach the competition s group stage.
