CAIRO: Ismaili striker Mohamed Fadl says he has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a faulty diagnosis.

The 29-year-old picked up a major injury in the Dervishes 3-2 victory over Masri in the Egyptian Premier League on March 13.

Ismaili medical staff said at the time he wouldn t get back in action this term, but Fadl is convinced the team s doctors failed to properly diagnose the problem.

The diagnosis was inaccurate, and thus I received the wrong treatment, he told FilGoal.com.

It turned out that the muscle that was initially believed to be injured is actually intact.

I won t be able to feature in Ismaili s next couple of games, but I will stand by my teammates and try to support them psychologically at this critical stage of the league.

Ismaili are now on top of the table with 57 points, three clear of closest rivals and defending champions Ahly, who have one more game in hand.

Fadl, whose current contact runs out by the end of the season, stated that his future is still hanging in the balance.

I don t think much about renewing my contract, I m just waiting for Ismaili to offer me a new deal, he explained.

But I didn t turn down a contract extension for LE 3.5 million as recently reported, the club didn t make me an offer to start with.
