CAIRO: Winger Mahmoud “Shikabala Abdel-Razeq has been left out of Zamalek s squad for the Egyptian Premier League game against Asyut Petroleum on Monday after pulling out of training without excuse.
Shikabala did not complete Friday s training session for no reason, Zamalek assistant coach Sami Al-Sheshini told the club s official website.
He will not take part in the Asyut game and will be questioned over his attitude.
Shikabala s season was blighted by continuous off-field problems with Zamalek’s technical staff and board.
The talented schemer was jeered off by his team s supporters during a league game against Ghazl Mahalla in February.
Promising youngster Alaa Ali has become Zamalek s regular playmaker at the expense of Shikabala.
Goalkeeper Abdel-Wahed Al-Sayed will also miss out on the Asyut game after failing to shake off back pains.
Mohamed Abdel-Monsef is expected to take Al-Sayed s place between the sticks.
Zamalek, who have nothing to play for after another disappointing season that saw them crash out of the Champions League and the Egyptian Cup, lie sixth in the league table on 38 points with two matches remaining.
