CAIRO: Zamalek presidential candidates Mamdouh Abbas and Kamal Darwish announced that Michel Decastel will remain as club coach if any of them wins the elections.

The White Knights ex- Chairmen are competing for the club presidency alongside Mortada Mansour, Mahmoud Khaled, Abdul-Tawab Khalaf and Khaled Al-Koshi.

Abbas and Darwish agreed that the club showed signs of improvement since Swiss tactician Decastel took over Zamalek in January.

The Cairo club started the season with German coach Reiner Hollmann at the helm, but the ex-Ahly coach was sacked after some poor results in the league and CAF Champions League.

Zamalek s elections are set to be held on May 27.
