BERLIN: Germany have tentatively organized friendly internationals with Chile and Egypt on November 14 and 18, general manager Oliver Bierhoff told the SID sports agency on Sunday.
The matches are dependent on Germany landing first place in their World Cup qualifying Group 4, Bierhoff explained.
Currently, they lead Russia by four points with five wins and a draw in six matches, but the latter have a game in hand, while Finland are well adrift in third place five points further back.
Three-time winners Germany are already well advanced with preparations for the finals and intend to have three friendlies in Africa before heading for the finals in South Africa, assuming they qualify.
The Germans are tipped to set up their headquarters in Gauteng province, which includes Johannesburg.
Everyone is talking of Cape Town and its region but we would have optimum facilities in Gauteng – winter is drier there, altitude is 1,600 meters and that s important as most matches will be played at that altitude, said Bierhoff.
