CAIRO: Zamalek dispensed with Ivorian striker Olie Koffi after he failed to impress during a five-month spell at the Cairo giants.
Koffi joined Zamalek from Societe Omnisports late in January after undergoing a trial period with the club.
He was given limited opportunities under Swiss coach Michel Decastel, making only three appearances.
The 24-year-old did not grasp his chances and was eventually shown the door.
The club does not need his services, Zamalek said in a statement on their website on Saturday.
The White Knights also released diminutive midfielder Alaa Abdul-Ghani.
The 30-year-old joined Zamalek from Arab Contractors in 2005 after contributing to the latter s Egyptian Cup triumph.
He was promising in his early days with Zamalek but his progress was hampered by a succession of injuries.
Out-of-favor left back Osama Hassan has also left the club as he joined Alexandria-based club Ittihad on Friday.
