CAIRO: The Ministry of Health reported one more case of H1N1 virus, raising the total of cases in Egypt to 40.
A 13-year-old girl who recently arrived from the United States was diagnosed with the virus.
In a press statement, the ministry said that 28 of the 40 cases have recovered and were released from hospitals, while 12 are still undergoing treatment.
Iran reported its first case of swine flu late Monday, saying it was an Iranian who just arrived from abroad without giving further details.
In the past 48 hours, Lebanon reported five new cases of H1N1 virus raising the total number of cases to 25. Algeria reported its second case and Israel reported 290 confirmed cases by press time.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reported 44,288 cases worldwide and 180 deaths.
