CAIRO: Egypt keeper Essam Al-Hadari could make a sensational return to Ahly after a number of high-profile politicians interfered to improve his relation with the Red Devils board.
An Ahly official told FilGoal.com that coach Hossam Al-Badri contacted the keeper regarding a possible transfer to the Cairo giants.
The official added that Ahly will announce the final outcome of their talks with the 36-year-old within the next 48 hours.
Al-Hadari left Ahly for Swiss club FC Sion in February 2008 without the formers consent, a transfer that turned the board against him.
He later said that he regretted the move and expressed a wish to return to Ahly, but his statements always fell on deaf ears at the club.
After filing a complaint against the player to FIFA, Ahly said that the player was suspended for four months starting August. Al-Hadari appealed the decision.
