CAIRO: Sunderland manager Steve Bruce is aiming to land Ahmed “Mido Hossam from Middlesbrough in the current transfer window, The Sun reported.
According to the British tabloid, the Black Cats will table an approximately LE 20 million offer for the towering marksman within the next few days.
The 26-year-old worked under the management of Bruce in the second half of last season at Wigan Athletic, when the former Manchester United man was in charge at the JJB Stadium.
Mido joined Wigan on a six-month loan deal from Middlesbrough in January, and scored two goals for the Latics.
Bruce expressed his admiration for the former Roma player on more than one occasion, and was expected to lure the Egypt ace into following him to the Stadium of Light.
Mido was also in awe of Bruce’s managerial skills and experience, which suggests he would accept a Sunderland offer should he receive one.
